Dave Harries comes from a background in radio broadcasting, starting his career at the BBC World Service and BBC national radio as a studio manager in 1985. Along the way he has worked as a presenter and producer at the BBC, commercial radio and hospital radio as well as spending 18 months in Chicago as a producer for National Public Radio. He founded CommunicateTV 8 years ago, to develop “business video with an authentic voice”. He achieves this aim by using professional broadcast interviews to allow his clients to express themselves on camera in a natural and compelling way. However, his business journey has led him back to his roots in the radio sector, with the huge growth in the use of podcasting in all its various forms by businesses and individuals. Realising that his background and training in radio meant he was ideally equipped to offer podcasting production and training to his clients, Dave now offers this service alongside video production and media training.
Today’s talk will be an introduction to the world of the podcast as well as a brief “how to” guide from an ex BBC producer’s point of view. This will include the do’s and don’ts of producing your own podcast and some ideas on what exactly you might want to talk about.
